I have been involved with IS 183′s Annual Fund-raising and Silent Auction parties for 3 years running. Michelle Quigley started working on the IS183 parties with The Snow Ball back in 2006. The first one I got involved in was Kabuki a Go Go back in 2007. Here is a link to some of the image research I did back then KabukiaGoGo on Flickr.

MM Design

Merry Mullings is a textile representative of very high end textiles, she is based in Paris France, and has impeccable taste. Her site is very simple at the moment, more like a holding place on the web with original content. However, when I first created the site, she was nowhere to be found on the web, and MM Design was a strangely niche based competitive keyword. There are a lot of design companies out there using MM Design. But Over time, she is now at the top of Google for the keyword “MM Design”.

This site is actually a combination of 2 different WordPress Installations, due to the face that she decided later on ‘MM Design’, and I had already put up a site ‘mmdesignsource’ to start the process.

Merry Mullings of MM Design represents Sam Kasten Handweaver, another client of mine.

I have worked with Ed Hanify now for a couple of years on his website. When we first started working together, he had a very old site dating back to Web 1.0. I created a WordPress site, shot some photographs, commissioned writer Mickey Friedman to create some original content about The Berkshires, and re-integrated his shopping cart Inntopia.

We built the new site with the philosophy to be a goto place on the web about vacation information onj The Berkshires. Since Ed’s inn is just down the road from Jimminy Peak, a popular local ski resort, I have kept working with Ed to add new seasonally based content as the seasons change.

Rolf Magener – On the Road

Photographer Rolf Magener is a close friend of mine who created a website iPod Cleaner back in Web 1.0. Rolf earned so much money from that venture, that he decided to travel around the world, which he did for many years, taking beautiful photographs along the way. I built this site for him due to the fact that his chosen publishing platform, the Apple product iLife was so badly indexed by the search engines. The site has been dormant now for a while, but still comes up when you Google Rolf Magener’s name.

Frank Vining Smith

Partnering with the late Jon Gams of Hard Press Editions, the art book publisher, I created this online initiative to dominate the first plave on Google searching for the terms ‘Frank Vining Smith’, in long term preparation for publishing a comprehensive book on the subject of Frank Vining Smith. This book is currently being designed by the designer Michelle Quilgey.

In the short space of 3 months, this simple WordPress site is now at the top of Google’s rankings, as as the book nears publication date, it will serve as an excellent platform to launch, market and sell the book.

When Seth and Mitch Nash, the creative geniuses behind Blue Q, asked me create a blog for them to help bring them into the social network scene, I jumped at the chance.

“Since 1988 Blue Q has been putting an entertaining spin on everything from gum to magnets to lip balm to breath sprays to car fresheners. They created the trendy bath boom with their personal care brands Dirty Girl, Wash Away Your Sins and Total Bitch. And now, in the beginning of 2010, they can be found all over the internet.”

A Way To Garden – Created Margaret Roach’s initial WordPress site – Introduced Margaret to WordPress and it’s power of getting indexed in any keyword space with Google – set her up with my developer/programmer at the time, Rus Miller. Started with shared hosting at BlueHost – due the acceleration of traffic, migrated her site to Mosso, a division of RackSpace. Hooked her up with twitter, Flickr, Facebook. She turned around and set the gardening web (keyword space – gardening) of fire. As a result, the New York Times interviewed her and her site gets over a million page views. I really cannot take any credit for Margret’s success on her site. She is a media dynamo with insight into her audience and a passion for her subject matter. YAY ! Go Margaret !

RetroRenovation

RetroRenovation Pam Kueber had a blogspot site for about 18 months about postwar design and the American Ranch aesthetic. Her traffic hovered at about 1200 uniques a month. Created a Bluehhost account and bought the domain RetroRenovation. Pam’s current traffic is running at about 35,000 uniques a day, and her site now dominates the Retro keyword space as it applies to Interiors and aesthetics on Google. Pam Kueber is another one of these people out there on the web with a terrific passion for the subject matter and has gained a huge audience of young and new home owners across the web and the world. Woot ! Go Pam !

Sam Kasten Handweaver

Sam Kasten Handweaver Rebuilt Sam Kastens web site to a fully functioning PHP site, created the url KastenTibetans.com, which got indexed and ranked in the keyword space of Tibetan Rugs – then built out a new PHP module within Samkasten.com and did a permanent redirect to the module. Have built out several additional sites for Sam, marketing for his rep in France and the EU. Established a Flickr account for both his company and his rep, using the tag based search engine within Flickr to get found and indexed under his keyword spaces. Continue to work with SKH on further marketing initiatives.
