Working with PR writer Ellen Lahr and Trinity Training and Development owner Robert Winter we took a very complex, information rich site and converted it into a site with the the same data, only a much improved, simplified user interface.

The original site was deconstructed and the information on the site was rewritten and regrouped into more coherent format. Once that format was decided upon and tested, the new site was built form the group up around the new structure. Simpler user interfaces were designed and a several WordPress themes were built to determine the most effective information flow. Once the final WordPress theme was decided upon, new graphics were designed to integrate with the complex information flow needed to help the user find relevant information.

SEO 413 is a site I built to help people understand the basics of Search Engine Optimization. It seems these days everyone and their mother is shilling SEO. I think there are many great SEO guys + girls out there, but the core basics remain unchanged, something I call ‘The Rules of Google’. Visit the site sometime when you have a chance to get an idea of what is needed to get found these days.

Google continues to change and shift their algorithm to adapt to changing forces on the web. Social media and social networks keep impacting natural search and the way people find things and information on the Web. The recent Panda updates of Google’s algorithm have shown through results that scraped and old content are no longer making the grade. Original, well written and researched content is time consuming and expensive, but Google has made a clear validation that is gives premium to this kind of content. There are many in the SEO community that are grumbling about the fact that the recent Panda updates give precedent to Google’s own properties, and while some of that might be true, many of these Google properties are fueled by true user based content.

That effectively brings search full circle. As to whether this means that social media provides any higher quality content to the top of Google’s search results that the content farms Panda seemed to be designed to replace, the results remain to be seen.

Working intensely with Liz Riviere, Marylyn Dintenfass and her team to create this book launch site in time for the PR window required that met with the high quality of an artist of Marylyn Dintenfass caliber.

“MARYLYN DINTENFASS PARALLEL PARK is the first book to document this internationally-known artist’s most recent work that reveals her life-long love affair with automobiles, especially the culturally iconic high-powered, sporty, sexy muscle cars that streamed out of Detroit from the late 1950’s to the mid-1970’s.This monograph is the story of the artist’s most recent achievement: one of the largest and most transformative art installations in the United States of the past decade. The book expands upon Dintenfass’ drawings, monotypes and paintings on the automotive theme and critically explores how they are the genesis for this site-specific installation—the latest in a long series of such works—entitled PARALLEL PARK in Fort Myers, Florida. PARALLEL PARK is a major new study on the artist, a review of popular culture and gender issues in contemporary art, and an invaluable public art reference.”

Marylyn Dintenfass Parallel Park ~ a monograph published in October 2011 by Hard Press Editions.
